A funky little Indie project, complete with a half-recorded album long forgotten and left to collect dust in deep depths of my hard drive.

The USAF Band of Mid America is located at Scott Air Force Base in southwest Illinois, about 30 minutes east of downtown St. Louis. Adam (Airman 1st Class Braatz in this case) is a member of both the concert band and 'Shades of Blue' jazz ensembles, among others.  He also runs the jazz library, and is an assistant arranger.

USAF Band of Mid America

Adam, along with the versatile rockstar Brian Plank (bass), has joined the dynamic duo of Paul and Melanie Shaw in 'Acoustic Station'.  This ensemble has been characterized as a 'folk' group, but brings a unique sound to the genre, with colorful instrumentation, thoughtful lyrics, and brilliant songwriting.
